“In the Muslim school, the teacher wrote to tell mother I made faces during Quranic studies,” wrote Obama.
The Indonesian media have been flooded with accounts of Obama’s childhood Islamic studies, some describing him as a religious Muslim .
The Times’ Nicholos Kristof wrote Obama recited, “with a first-class [Arabic] accent,” the opening lines of the Muslim call to prayer.
Israel Insider’s Reuven Koret notes the first few lines state:

Obama is, for all intents and purposes, a secular purpose. His Christianity is not fundamental, but he’s also not going to promote the Muslim religion either. Just take a look at Michele, and you’ll see who wears the pants in the Obama family. That’s a Muslim no-no.

religion has a great deal to do with judgment. What a person has as core beliefs indicates to us how he will govern.

You go where your parents take you. You can say “I am not going to school becuase I don’t like it here”. Its ultimately your parents decision what school you go to.

Obama was 6-7 years old when he lived in Indonesian. How much “religious training” could he have had going to the only school in the area, even if one was to accept your insinuation? I can recite a lot of Buddhist scripture but that doesn’t make me a Buddhist.
I personally think it’s an asset that he has a basic understanding of other cultures. It will serve America well when we have to deal with world issues.
